QUIKWATER FAQ

Q. What type of printer works well with the Quikwater program ?

A. Most people prefer the quality of a laser jet type of printer. It will need to be able to handle legal size paper for some of the billing reports. Dot matrix printers are only needed if you will be using multi-part bills.

Q. If I find a mistake in the readings/payments/adjustments after the bills are calculated, how do I fix ?

A. You may re-calculate the bills as many times as needed to get all of your corrections taken into account. Once they are correct, print them, mail them, and then process the month end for this set of bills. Processing the month end places the bill information into the Financial History file insuring that your records match the customer's records.

Q. What does the ODBC setup routine really do ?

A. This allows the program to reside in folders of various names and still be able to use the report generator that ships with Quikwater. You will need to run it if the program has been moved onto another computer/folder.

Q. I would like the names to print First, Middle, Last on the bills and labels but need to search by Last, First, Middle in the customer and transaction screens.....

A. If the payer is the tenant, this is easily accomplished by 'duping' the service name and address information to the billing name and address fields and then changed the name around. Remember, the bills print from the billing address if it is filled in.

Q. Is there any way to print a statement on demand ?

A. Yes. The transaction screen titled "Statement Information" calculates a statement in real time based on your entries in the other 3 screens; Meter Readings, Customer Payments, and Special Adjustments. Click on the print button while the statement is being displayed to get an instant bill for the customer.

Q. How does the average variance calculation work ?

A. In the transaction screen, Meter Readings Tab, the print routine will print an asterisk next to any customer that is deemed 'out of the norm' based on your selections just prior to printing. The 2 entries you make are a percentage (+/-) and a number of months to average. The percentage calculation is the average gallons minus the gallons used this period divided by the average gallons (times 100). This figure is then compared to the allowable percentage you entered to determine which customers get 'the footnote'.
